  • Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary – Consecrating ourselves completely to Jesus through Mary is the “surest, easiest, shortest, and the most perfect means to becoming a saint.” This is from St. Louis de Montfort who wrote “True Devotion to Mary“. He wrote this book as a means to consecrating yourself to Jesus through Mary where you give yourself completely to her and become her instrument. This is a big step in the spiritual life but one that is worth taking. Another more recent means of Marian Consecration is Fr. Michael Gaitley’s book “33 Days to Morning Glory“. In comparison to St. Louis de Montfort’s book, this is a more simplified preparation for Consecration Day but still is very inspiring and powerful.
  • First Saturday Devotion – This is a beautiful devotion from Our Lady’s Apparition at Fatima. Our Lady appeared to Sr. Lucia (one of the visionaries) showing Sr. Lucia her pierced heart and how grieved she was over the sins of humanity. To make reparation to her immaculate heart we can practice the First Saturday devotion she asks of us. Our Lady said, “I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the First Saturday of five successive months:
    – Go to Confession
    – Receive Holy Communion
    – Recite five decades of the Rosary
    – Keep Mary company for 15 minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.”
She only asks for 5 consecutive months, but why not continue it as often as one can? You are more than welcome to email us should you have any questions, as this is a devotion we at Got Mary regularly practice.

More on Marian Consecration….

If you have not already consecrated yourself to Jesus through Mary, we highly encourage you to do so. Why not join the many whose lives have been changed by this (including ourselves)? Check out the two books mentioned above and see which is more suitable for you. Then be ready for Mary to change your life! If you have already done a Marian Consecration then we highly recommend you renew it daily. Here is one prayer from Fr. Michael Gaitley’s “33 Days to Morning Glory” that you can say everyday as a means of renewing your Marian Consecration:

Mary, my Mother, I give myself totally to you as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God.
